Crispina was born in Sugarland, TX to Josefina Gamez and Francisco Gamez. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
She was married to Jabuiel Monrrial, who preceded her in death, along with her Grandson, Alejandro Cisneros, Grandson Martin Herrera, and granddaughter, Justeen Smith.
In 1963 Father Valladares, Martha Munoz and Crispina Monrrial had the desire to teach children of St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Chruch in Abilene, Texas the dances of Mexico. She was the Co- Founder of the St. Vincent Pallotti Ballet Folklorico.
She took the role as director for the ballet in1979. She was like a second mom in the ballet Folklorico at St. Vincent Catholic Ballet. She was an amazing lady, who was one of our 'church' moms at St Vincents and mom to everyone whether she knew them or not. Everyone looked up to her and was always there for the children. Crispina dedicated 25 years of her life to the art of Mexican Folk dance and made a huge impact in the lives of children and the Abilene community.
She always said that the children were the future to carry on with the traditions of our beautiful culture.
Her passion and love for the Folklorico was like no other. She was such an inspiration to all the dancers and all who knew her. Mrs. Monrrial was always there to mentor any dancer that needed it.
She was one of the few individuals that accepted and loved everyone for who they were. She always taught all children and young adults to believe in themselves and to always follow their dreams. Her mission was to educate children and adults while "Preserving the Mexican Culture Through the Art of Dance".
There are very few individuals like her in today’s world and we are surely going to miss her. THANK YOU Mrs. Monrrial for coming into our lives. As we bid farewell to Mrs. Monrrial, let us carry forward the love and laughter she brought into our lives. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will forever echo in our hearts, reminding us to cherish each moment and hold tight to the bonds of family.
